How do I check my voter registration status?
- Visit the Indiana Voter Portal and click on Check Your Registration Record.
How do I register to vote?
- Online: Visit the Indiana Voter Portal if you already have an official Indiana Driver’s License or Identification Card and click on Apply Now.
- At the BMV: If you are an Indiana resident, you may register or get an application to register to vote at any BMV branch when processing any type of transaction. See the BMV Voter Information
- By Mail: Download an Indiana Voter Registration Application form or pick one up from any of the following locations:
- The Board of Elections and Registration
- City or County Clerk’s Office
- BMV License Branch
- Tippecanoe County Public Library
- Township Trustee’s Office
- West Lafayette Public Library

How Do I Vote?
You have the right to vote in Indiana if:
- You are both a U.S. citizen and a resident of Indiana; and
- You will be at least 18 years of age on or before the next General or Municipal Election, and
- You are not currently in prison after being convicted of a crime; and
- You have lived in the precinct where you vote for at least 30 days prior to the election; and
- You are registered to vote.
What do I need to Vote?
- Public Law 109-2005 requires Indiana residents to present a government-issued photo ID before casting a ballot at the polls on Election Day. See further details below:
