
The Tippecanoe County/Ivy Tech Library opened in April 2002. It was the first joint public/college library in the state of Indiana. The total project cost was $3,900,000. Six hundred donors raised $608,167 towards books and other library materials for this facility. An additional $600,000 was invested to begin the Tippecanoe County Public Library Foundation held at the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette. The joint public/college building was turned over to Ivy Tech in 2016. TCPL moved moved much of the furniture, equipment and materials to the newly opened Wyandotte Branch Library.
